Shorecrest vs Keswick District Quarterfinal 3-0 WIN
Shorecrest beat Keswick 3-0 to move into the District Semifinals. The first half was dominated by the Chargers. Numerous chances went off of the crossbar from long throw-ins by Spencer W., but the first score came off of an Ian J-S header from Alex. H. The Chargers went up 2-0 when KJ N. was able to touch a ball into the right corner to extend the lead. In the second half, Keswick ramped it up giving Shorecrest a few scares. The defense held strong though and caught the Keswick strikers offside a handful of times to maintain the shutout. Zach F. finished the scoring after a long ball from Ian J-S.

Shorecrest vs Admiral Farragut 2-0 WIN
The Chargers scored a goal in the first 30 seconds of the game and never looked back. Jake D. dropped a ball to Max F. who hits a shot that deflected off of a defenders foot ballooned through the air and dropped in the top corned of the goal for a 1-0 lead. A short time later, Max F. found Sam C. on a square pass outside the box. Sam C. one-timed the ball a drove the ball into the left side of the net on a rope.
The team was able to create more chances, but couldn't convert. Defensively, the team posted another shutout and was solid in creating counter-attacks.

No Berkeley Tournament
We will not be playing the Berkeley tournament. We will have practice over the break though. The dates and times are yet to be determined.
Shorecrest vs Out of Door 4-0 WIN
Shorecrest thumped Out of Door in district play on Wednesday night. The game was very evenly matched at the outset, but the Chargers soon took control. Max F. and Alex H. played a perfect one-two combo in the middle to set up Rheese W. for a breakaway. He calmly juked the keeper for a 1-0 lead into halftime.
Looking to post a shutout for the first time since the opener the defense held strong the second half and limited Out of Door to only one real chance on goal. Jeremy R. came up huge on the breakaway, stuffing the striker and sending the ball down the field. The Chargers goal came on another breakaway on the other end. Rheese W. had a clear path to the goal when he was taken down in the box in what was an apparent foul and penalty kick. The world stood up and screamed, but no call. Fairness swept in though to save the situation and rebounded the ball back off of Rheese and then trickled it into the net for a 2-0 lead.
The team continued to weather mysterious no calls in the box as the pressure mounted on the opponent. Rheese W. completed his hatrick on the night when a centering pass bounced right back to him in wall-pass fashion that he finished for a 3-0 score. Zack F. finished the scoring when Steven W. took a ball to the middle and beat the keeper and defender.
The team is now 8-0.
