Shorecrest vs Calvary Christian - Win 3-2

Shorecrest was able to squeak out another victory, this time against Calvary Christian. The game wasn't as close as the score indicates though, especially in terms of time of possession as the Chargers held the ball for most of the game. The team attacked, but the CC keeper was aggressive in coming off of his line making it difficult for the Chargers to score. Rheese W. finally broke through, however, as he sent a well placed lob into the top right corner for a 1-0 lead. The team relaxed giving Calvary a chance to swing the momentum and a few minutes later CC struck to tie the game at 1-1. Thankfully, Phil T. hustled to a cross by Caelum S. before the end of the half to put the Chargers ahead for good.

The team started the second half the way they finished and continued to control the ball. A corner kick set the stage for the team's third goal when Rheese W. sent a short ball to Jake C. who took it up the endline. The unsuspecting defense and keeper watched helplessly as he knuckled a ball into the goal near post. "That was so dirty he'll need a bath," exclaimed captain Alistair F.

The team gave up a late goal with less than two minutes to play, but was able to maintain the victory. Shorecrest's record now stands at 7-4-3 as they await CCC on Senior Night this coming Wednesday.
