Varsity Boys Soccer

STILL UNDEFEATED 7-0!

The varsity boys soccer team is still undefeated after seven games. They have outscored their opponents  37-7 and are looking to head into the winter break without a blemish.

Against Northside, the Chargers scored early and often leaving no doubt who would be the victor. Rheese W., Zach F., and Steven W. each had two goals with Sam C. contributing one on the evening.

The following  match against Keswick was less impressive than the 6-1 final would indicate. The team fell behind 1-0 on a quick counter despite controlling possession for a majority of the early minutes. The team was finally able to knot it up before half when Sam. C found Zach F. for a great one touch finish from the pk spot. The team, motivated to prove they could score without Rheese. W. in the line-up, came out the second half firing. Jake D. started the rush with an excellent run to put in a cornerkick from Alex. H. Jake then returned the favor and assisted Alex H. on the next goal. Zach F., Steven W. and JJ each scored a goal as well to account for the final tally.

The team finally headed down to Sarasota to meet Sarasota Christian. Rheese W. put in the first two goals on a great a great bender and some nifty dribbling to go up 2-0. Alex H. then added the third goal with some slick dribbling of his own just before the half.  The second half wasn't as impressive as the team lost momentum and gave up a goal on a quick counter attack. The team continued to look sluggish until Alex H. connected on a blast from 25 out to end the scoring.
