A few minutes later, JJ J. took the ball down the wing and up the endline. He dumped the ball back to an awaiting Sam W who missed the one-touch only to calmly reclaim the ball and put it in the back of the net. His celebration wasn't nearly as calm, as he ran to the sideline to be congratulated.
The second half saw fewer shots, but more goals. Again, the team scored early with Jerome J. finding an open Rheese W. for a 4-0 lead. Rheese W. would score again with a nice pass from KJ N. who then followed up his assist with a goal of his own from a Sam C. who centered a pass from the wing. Rheese W. scored an unassisted goal, darting up the right wing for his 4th goal of the night and a 7-0 lead. Alex H. ended the game with a quick corner pass from Henry M. as he roofed the keeper driving in from the left wing.
Only five starters from last season were on the field to start the game, but these boys along with the new faces, both young and old, played a complete game from top to bottom. Next up - St. Pete Catholic
